This Heart of Mine

“…I look like the flower that blooms
But really, her petals are best friends with the glooms…” Kofoworola Afolabi
Does time really heal?
Doesn't seem to me like a real deal
Why do I still feel these pains?
Why am I still bound to these chains?
In that beautiful garden, I look  like the flower that blooms
But really, her petals are best friends with the glooms
Does this give you any hope?
That even the brightest smile rests on a slant slope
I'm in a false creed
This heart of mine
Is too broken to be fixed
This burden of mine
It's not easy to diss
This pain of mine
Has got me hiding
Lord! please give me your biding
Take away my pride
And bless me with your spiritual tide
Is this real?
Is this really what you feel?
Is this what your heart speaks?
Why do I only see wreaks?
Its content, i'm afraid, is a mad man with a sane mind
The bitterness, the pain, the hurt
It's all because you feel you have no worth
Please give me your heart
Let me create with it a priceless art

The Heart

To me, the heart is like a rose. It’s easy to give it out, but when it hurts, it starts to develop thorns around it till it’s covered, and has no space to breathe. It starts to hurt other people because it has been hurt. If you hurt it again, it makes you bleed just like the rose on the thorns prick your finger if you are not conscious of how you treat it. If you’re hurting, you’re not alone. Don’t wait for time. I don’t believe time heals because if it really does, why do you cringe when you hear about that past? God is the only one that can take your broken heart and fix it. He will create with it a priceless art despite feeling worthless. Allow Him into your heart today, and you would have someone to bear that pain with you and carry that burden with you. These struggles won’t leave, but it would get easier once you give your heart to Him. I promise!
