Have you ever felt like you’re not doing enough, you’re way behind, and everyone seems to be chatting about avoiding procrastination, sleeping less and working more, being occupied in order to secure the bag, or participating in late nights just to get a perfect g.p.a? If yes, well, you’re not alone. For the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve felt miserable spiritually, and mentally. I would just want to sleep, eat, and watch YouTube videos all week. Thank God, I’m back to normal ( I honestly needed that break). I’m grateful for that period because when I recovered, I came back stronger and learned new things about myself. I’ve always wondered why we always need to be on our toes, doing one thing or the other. I understand that that’s what’s in trend now, being proactive, and don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing trend, but I feel like, at the end of the day, we need to relax.

A brief explanation of my personality
I would like to say I’m self disciplined and somewhat a perfectionist. The reason why I use ‘somewhat’ is because I’m only a perfectionist with the things I’m concerned about and not things that I deem as unnecessary. When things don’t go as I want them to go, I have trouble accepting the setbacks, but I’m getting more mature as seconds pass by and learning that everything would not always go my way. I love to be on top of my game, and when I see someone doing more than I’m doing, I tend to feel like I need to be doing more. Mind you, this doesn’t mean that I’m envious or I want to be superior. I just want to always do the best I can due to my extremely ambitious nature that I’m sometimes scared of. The point of this briefing is to say that if you relate to my situation, we need to just learn to relax. The continuous drive to be on top from self help books, self help teachers to society as a whole is very crucial for success and inspiring, but no one is and can ever be perfect. You would never always be at your best, and when you’re not, understand that it’s absolutely fine. YOU’RE NOT ALONE. It’s important to strive to always be your best, but it’s also important to take a step back and smell the roses.
…On that note, understand that you need setbacks to progress in life. You need to not feel like yourself to understand yourself. You need to fail, to avoid mistakes. We all need to experience difficulties to only become more self disciplined and appreciate our breakthroughs. I hope this was helpful. See ya✌🏿!
