Life, social media, perceptions

Hi guys! it’s been a while. I hope everyone is in a better state of mind than the previous day. Today, i’ll be talking about how social media, life, and perceptions have controlled our lives. Happiness has been bought in the expense of validation from others. We need to learn to be authentic so that we can live a happy life. If you think about it, if people were not competing for fame, the best body, the highest number of followers, the world would be a happier place.

Social media are technological platforms that help you share content that promote your business, share your creativity, express yourself, and inform the society. Social media is accompanied with a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Social media has given us certain perceptions concerning things like the ideal body, number of followers, dressing etc. Social media has made us forfeit authenticity for validation. It has made us express ourselves in the wrong ways.

Perceptions of the ideal body

Social media, these days, have made a lot of people feel uncomfortable in their own skin therefore opting for cosmetic surgery in order to feel an inner and outer feeling of self worth. But you know the funniest thing is it doesn’t really work that way. Yes, people might appreciate and respect you more, but keep in mind that they don’t respect and appreciate you for who you really are. Cosmetic surgery doesn’t really give you true happiness. It gives you delusional happiness that has been formed by your mind. This is a worldly kind of happiness because as soon as people stop validating the fact that having an hourglass figure is the ideal body, you’ll go back to the same feeling of that lack of sense worth because you are not comfortable in your own skin. Today, I just want to tell anyone reading this piece that you should appreciate and value your body. Not just your body, everything about you because that’s where true happiness comes from. True happiness comes from the fact that you appreciate and value yourself, and you believe that you’re beautiful in your own way. Do not listen to what people have to say about beauty. It’s their opinion. You are not of the world therefore you are unique in God’s eyes, and no one can take that away from you. If we were all the same, creativity would not even be a thing.

Identity

If you base too much of your actions on people’s opinions then you may end up loosing your identity and what you really stand for. The world is a dangerous place. It has influenced most of our actions. It has manipulated our minds and has made us so naive and absurdly inquisitive that we forget the truth and base our actions on false opinions. One day you think this, the next day we see something on social media that is controversial to our beliefs, and then immediately we fall for it.

Tip

Clear all perceptions of the world and do your own thing. Don’t just follow your convictions, let your convictions live in you, live through you, and live with you, so that when you see controversial statements that question your beliefs, you won’t fall out of track. There’s only one life at the end of the day. We’re all going to die and what we gain would not matter anymore. But one thing I believe in is that we should be careful of what we take in because they can either make or destroy us. Be careful of what you believe in. In my opinion, your actions should be based on your beliefs. Base your actions on the word of God!
